If you know the specification of your system then simply choose the type of file you wish to test. If you are unsure which type of file is suitable we suggest you start with the MP3 file and then progress incrementally to the next quality level. When you import the files into your music player look for 'Gimell' under the Track, Album or Artist headings. WMA files are usually best for owners of Windows PCs and FLAC files for everyone else.

Some 16-bit players will reproduce 24-bit files by ignoring bits 17 to 24. The audible quality of these truncated 24-bit files will actually be inferior to the corresponding 16-bit version. This is the case, for example, with Soundbridge or Sonos players for which you should only purchase our MP3 or CD Quality Downloads.

Squeezebox owners should note that there is no advantage in buying our Studio Master Pro Downloads - the lower-priced Studio Master Downloads will sound the same or even better than the 'Pro' versions when played on the Squeezebox. The Transporter is ideal for playing our 96kHz Studio Master Pro Stereo Downloads but you will need to ensure you are using the latest Beta firmware if you wish to play our 88.2kHz Studio Master Pro Stereo Downloads.
