When you purchase an album of Downloads we provide a page where there are links to download each individual track. This can be a somewhat tedious procedure if you are relying on your Web Browser to individually select and download each track.
Before you download an album we recommend that you first install a Download Manager programme onto your computer. A Download Manager will allow you to easily select the tracks you have purchased and will then supervise the downloading process for you. Some download stores offer customised Download Manager programmes but these tend to be inferior to the programmes we recommend. We believe it is better to run just one multi-purpose Download Manager on your computer which you should then be able to use for each Download Store that you visit. We currently suggest the following programmes:
Firefox users (Windows and Mac) - Downloadthemall
Other Windows users - Free Download Manager
Other Mac users - iGetter
If you believe an alternative Download Manager will be better suited to our customers then please do let us know using our Contact form.
Some customers have asked why the downloading process cannot be automated in the same as when using iTunes. This is because Gimell is a website and iTunes is a computer programme that includes its own Download Manager. It is partly because it is a computer programme that you have to frequently download a new version of the iTunes application.
