iTunes does not support FLAC and Apple does not allow us to sell downloads in the Apple Lossless Format.

If you prefer to use iTunes on a Mac and want to play our lossless quality files then we suggest you download the free soundfile converter application from Max. Just follow these simple instructions to set the appropriate preferences and Max will quickly convert our stereo FLAC downloads to the Apple Lossless format and, at the same time, import the files into iTunes.

Go to Max - Preferences - Formats

  • in the list of 'Available output formats' double-click on 'MPEG4 Audio'
  • in the window that opens select 'Apple Lossless' and then click on OK
  • in the 'Configured output formats' list ensure that only 'MPEG4 Audio (Apple Lossless) is selected with a tick.

Now in the same Preferences window click on 'iTunes' (in the top right corner)

  • select 'Use iTunes compatibility mode'
  • select 'Add output files to iTunes library'
  • close the Preferences window.

Now whenever you need to convert FLAC files and add them to your iTunes library just

  • drag and drop your FLAC Downloads onto the Max 'File Conversion' window
  • click on 'Convert'

Please note that it is not possible to play 88.2kHz or 96kHz recordings on an iPod. It is possible to play our Studio Master Downloads (up to 24bit 48kHz) on an iPod but the player has not been designed for such large files - your battery life will suffer as a consequence.
